Generation of devices based on OEM modules.
On the basis of modules, you can build a wide range of equipment for digital broadcasting. These are, first of all, various receivers, modulators, converters. Greater design flexibility is provided by unified interfaces to transfer traffic between modules and commands for customization and control, as well as the versatility of the power source, the voltage of which can be selected in wide enough.
The main family of devices from the modules:
Modulators.
Modulators can operate in DVB-S/S2/T modes and have traffic input in ASI or IP formats. For IP, you can take both UDP and RTP, Unicast or Multicast. The ASI input modulator should include a control module that provides customization and control from the computer on the Ethernet interface. For an IP input modulator, the IP login module can perform its function. Modulators can be built in one- or multi-channel variants.
Receivers.
The source for receivers is the L-band signal (950… 2150 MHz), modulated by the DVB-S or DVB-S2 standard. Weekend traffic flow – in ASI or IP formats. Just like modulators, if the device has an IP output module, you may not use a separate control module. Because one receiver module contains two signal processing channels, it’s convenient to build multi-channel devices with even number of channels.
Converters.
It is possible to create converters (gateways) of traffic flow from ASI to IP and from IP format to ASI. Admission and transmission to IP can occur at speeds of up to 100 Mbps by UDP or RTP protocol (Unicast or Multicast). Multi-channel converters can make it easy to use a separate control module, which allows you to avoid using external network equipment to combine traffic flows and commands to set up and control from the computer.
Regenerators/transmodulators.
In these devices, the DVB-S or DVB-S2 signal is demoded by the receiver module and re-modulated in the modulator module. In this case, the modulation mode can remain the same (regenerator) or change (transmodulator). The carrier frequency can also be saved or altered relative to the input regardless of modulation mode. regenerators are used in long multi-stage digital transmission systems to avoid signal degradation, and transmodulators are needed, for example, when moving from one broadcasting environment to another (from MMDS/LMDS networks to cable TV, etc.). It is possible to build multi-channel devices. The device should include a control module to pair with the computer.
Depending on the needs, a single case can combine different device functionality in different combinations and with the required number of signal processing channels. In this case, they will be worked with through one common control interface
Ethernet and through a single control program on the computer.
